25 years ago today, I was sitting on a school bus. The morning news came on the radio and what was said turned the busy, lively, noisy bus into a silent, sad and eeriely morbid place........

The newsreader simply said:
"John Lennon has been fatally shot"

I can't believe it was 25 years ago - I remember that moment as if it were yesterday. The depth of emmotion that I felt then still brings me to tears to this day!

Seeing as excerpts of Imagine will be playing on British TV all day - here is a translation of John Lennon's infamous song Imagine - into Turkish

Imagine there's no heaven,
Cennetin olmadığını hayal et,

It's easy if you try,
Eğer denersen bu kolay,

No hell below us,
Altımızda cehennem yok,

Above us only sky,
Üstümüzde ise sadece gökyüzü var,

Imagine all the people, living for today...
Hayat et bütün insanların, bugün için yaşadıkların...

Imagine there's no countries,
Hiç ülke olmadığını hayal et,

It isn't hard to do,
Yapmak zor değil,

Nothing to kill or die for,
Öldürecek veya uğruna ölecek bir şey yok,

No religion too,
Din de yok,

Imagine all the people, living life in peace...
Hayal et bütün insanların, hayatı barış içinde yaşadıklarını...

Imagine no possesions,
Mülkiyetin olmadığını hayal et,

I wonder if you can?
Merak ediyorum başarabilir misin?

No need for greed or hunger,
Açgözlülüğe veya açlığa gerek yok,

A brotherhood of man,
İnsanların kardeşliği,

Imagine all the people, sharing all the world...
Hayal et bütün insanların, tüm dünyayı paylaştıklarını...

You may say I’m a dreamer,
Benim bir hayalci olduğumu söyleyebilirsin,

But I'm not the only one,
Ama tek ben değilim,

I hope some day you'll join us,
Umarım bir gün sen de bize katılacaksin,

And the world will live as one...
Ve dünya tek bir kişi gibi yaşayacak...

Natlisa,

Thank you very much for the lyrichs of the song. I do love it so much. and do you know: you will live much more than me since you did what I was planning to do.

Thank you again.

Hey - you have the wrong impression of me.......
I am the sort that blends into the background and is easily forgettably
