Aleykum selam;

in istanbul, apartment rents are about 500-600 liras. there are other bills (Telephone, water, gas, electricity.. etc) also. I dont think someone can establish a family with this amount wthout any other extra income.

Wa aleikum salam

However 1000 lira would be sufficient if you lived in another place. I know many people who earn just half of that (surely they can't afford housing either).
I wonder how much a cashier (eg. in a supermarket) earns in Istanbul?

If only few ones get this salary so how most of the people live with less than that? How they provide their families? Do u think that a man earning 1000 lira can get married but will be part of poor class or maybe middle class?

I'm curious to know what people in other countries - Turkey but also more - with the same profession earn and how many hours per week they have to work. Can anyone tell me what the average salary of a teacher is, working at a public school?
