Quoting panta rei: No, I am serious! And I do appreciate and greet your approach to dictionaries. Thinking now what I would do in place of you? Hmm.. Would I leave a pair of my shoes? Or something else? I know I would, for the sake of dictionaries I would leave even myself. |
Peki.

POLY Lingua E-8100 turkish-english talking dictionary
I will continue to make the advertisement of my dictionary that I have been using for nearly 3 years without any problem, ((just lately I cannot use because I have to change its small battery)
What I like with it is that it talks! It says aloud both the english and turkish words, so I think it's a wonderful way to hear how they're pronounced. And there's nearly every word in it, what I like with it is we can find the idioms, very daily words too. It really makes addiction.
It's 177 YTL. A bit more expensive than some other, but really buy a really good one, and use it for years with 100% satisfaction.

Quoting panta rei: Quoting Deli_kizin: nothing better than a normal paper dictionary. |
Exactly stated my thought, or rather my feeling for dictionaries, deli kızın! And why don't we show each other our dictionaries? You must see my dictionary collection;
I sometimes caress them tendernessly! |
Oh lalaaa!!
You two talk like my grandmother
Ok, but when we want to carry a good dictionary with us, then we have to take a really big, thick one, and it's very very heaviy. On the other hand, these electronic things can store tons of words, and I always take them with me, in my handbag, furthermore they can talk, we can hear how a word is pronounced.

I've just checked your recommended dictionary mltm, it looks really good, but unfortunately it's not delivered outside Turkey, so till I come there I guess I'll have to settle with mine...

There should be some pretty good PDA stuff as well. Well, for those who have one anyway, I can't talk from experience

I have the same dictionary as Ayla Ectaco's Language Teacher eng-tur ET 200D. it needs three small batteries
Its a very good one I think. But panta-rei seems to have one that contains poems..that one might be better.
