"yakında doğum günün olacak"
if you use "biraz sonra", it means "a few minutes later" or "a few seconds later", but soon means also "a few days later".
I mean; if you use "biraz sonra", something will happen in the same hour, or 1 - 2 hours later. So, "yakında" is better for this sentence.
