Does anybody know where on this site I can find discussions about Ataturk?I discovered that there is pretty contradictory attitude to his personality and I want to know more about it.What nowdays turks think about him..

he is the one of best national leader of all the times of all world.he created a new nation again when hopes ended with the his great team friends.Turkish people will be always thxfull to his great efforts.And thats certain each term creats its self leader,and i think we need new Atatürks for today..Theres some usefull information about him>>>>http://www.allaboutturkey.com/ataturk.htm but thats really very sad when some of people make politics with his principles

Thank you for the link. But I put this question because I realized that not everybody in Turkey think this way about Ataturk. Even though oficially everybody shows only love and respect to his personality I read in one forum opinion of some turks. They think he did mistake when he refused religion. And they said not everybody likes him....

i think he didn't refuse religion,just he sperated it from goverment,for creat a modern people..

The only people inside Turkey that don't like Ataturk, are the ones heavily influenced by Arabya.

Atatürk is obviously a great leader since he (and his followers) managed to save the future of the country. I don't think you can find many people in Turkey who doesn't agree with that and are very thankful for it, with the exception of other ethnicities who wished for a country of their own. But I do know some people who think that the praise is going too far, that he's treated too much hero-like. It's probably just a very small percentage who has that opinion though, the vast majority look up to him because of what he did for Turkey when the allies wanted to tear what was left of the ottoman empire apart. He also pushed through someother great reforms for the people and basically shaped Turkey which can only be admired.
