I would like to hear your suggestions.

I have a couple of spare UK mobile phones. I would like to use one of these phones in Turkey and buy a local Turkish simcard. Which is cost effective? Register my UK phone at the customs in Turkey and pay a fee for registration or a buy a mobile phone in Turkey to save the hassle?

Thank you very much Elisa. After reading the comments, I have now made a decision to buy a cheap local mobile phone as I go to Turkey once every three months.
