Funny movie, I liked it better than either Gora or the never Hababam Sinifi movies.

Is the word order in the Movie title normal for Turkish? I would have put "Dunayi Kurtaran" at the end.

It is:

Dünyayı Kurtaran Adamın Oğlu

The son of the man who saves (or saved) the world.

There is an old Turkish movie. Its name is "Dünyayı Kurtaran Adam" (The man who saves the world). It was a big shock for the movie history. Some people hate it, because it is very "absurd" for them. There are some movie academy authorities who think that this was the worst film in the world.

On the other hand, some people think that it was not bad at all. Especially, when you think the conditionals of that years, and the absence of technology, it is a normal film.

I didn't watch them, but this new one's teasers were really bad. I have never seen a good film in which Mehmet Ali Erbil plays.

I see I mispelled a word in my original post. I meant "newer Hababam..". Also since I was at work I wrote the title from memory and misspelled the Turkish.

In any case, I apparently like absurd movies. It is a personal preference.

Thanks for answering.

Regards

DUNYAYI KURTARAN ADAM is now considered to be a cult film. Check the prices of its CD in the United States.

Believe it, or not !

Did you invite all Americans to vote for Dünyayı Kurtaran Adam as well?

You are definitely not alone... This is a 1982 (old) film that still gets 6.1 stars out of 10. Moviemeter indicates an increasing trend in its popularity.

Note that you could probably not be able to treat the whole cast to a decent dinner, with all the money they spent in making this film.

I will buy the original.

The DVD that I started the thread over however was filmed in 2006 and distributed in 2007. I had to find a VERY big magnifying glass to read the fine print on the case.
