Scenario:

I am entering a grocery store, the Turkish Shopowner is speaking to 3 or 4 people in Turkish, but he interupts his conversation with them to to say "nasilsin" to myself and my wife.

Startled and not wishing to interupt their transaction, I just said "hos¸ bulduk", (skipping to the end of the normal, nasilsin:
Iyiim, hos geldiniz,hos bulduk)

Would that sound OK or should I have said "iyiim".

He said "how are you?"
You answered "I am welcome"
It would have sound better if you said "I am fine" "iyiyim"

if he is asking how you and your wife are he would say 'nasilsiniz'?
your reply could be iyiyiz tesekkurler=we are fine thanks>
hos geldiniz=glad you came(if addressing more than 1 person/or if being polite.
Hos bulduk=glad we met is said in response to hos geldiniz.
hope it helps.
