I know that when a person tells of a health problem it is normal to say "gecmiş olsun".
What if say a family member, (father in law) is in the hospital. Does the expression change. I'm sure that literally translating. -I hope he is is better-
"Onun iyi sağlığı oduğu umut ederim,"
won't sound right.

Kayinbaba'nin sagliginin iyi oldugunu umit ediyorum,or umarim Kayinbaba'nin sagligi iyi or umarim Kayinbaba'nin sagligi daha iyi.
