uzak durmak is more like a saying and can be translated as "stay away", "keep away" and "avoid". For example It can be used for bad habits like smoking, "sigaradan uzak durmak"
and I think
Herkes benden uzak duruyor is what you really mean.
but uzakta durmak can also be used, but when talking about positions, points. for example
"çizgiden uzakta durun" is more about a point like beyond the line.
but "çizgiden uzak durun" is about avoiding or keeping away from the line.
I hope from my great explanations you have understood something

that really helps yeah... i didnt think they would both be used..!
anyway.. that isnt even what i wanted to say hihi..
i wanted to say "everyone is staying away from me"
so im guessing it would be,
"hrkz bndn uzakta kalıyo" yeah?
