Can someone help me with this one please?

What does "neler" mean and how is it normally used?

I am not sure how to interpret it, whilst trying to translated some text, my translation did not make sense.

"Neler" is simply the plurial of "ne". In english the plurial "what" does not exist but in turkish does.

Pazardan neler aldın?
What did you buy from the bazaar?

Here "neler" is used rather than "ne" because we usually expect that one buys more than one thing from a bazaar. Though "ne" could be used here without problem as well.

Bugün neler yaptın?
What did you do today?

Here, we expect the one we're referring to list all the things he has done rather than a simple answer.

Normally, it is the plural form of "ne"

ne --> neler

You can see it on the songs or poems. For example, Kıraç's song:

Neler gördüm neler gönül elinden...

"gördüm" means something like "to have the experience" here. He says, "I have many experiences" (neler neler... = many things...)

Or you can use it in another type of asking "how are you?" or "what's up?":
Neler yapıyorsun? (what are you doing -these days-?)

If there are some more things that you are talking about, you may ask them by this plural type.

Neler biliyorsun? What do you know (more than little)?
Neler yaptın tatilde? What did you do on holiday? (asking more explanation, or for a long chat)

and so on.

Umarım bu açıklama işine yarar!
Kolay gelsin!
