The Trojan Horse used in the movie Troy is now in Troy (Çanakkale, Turkey). The company that produced the movie, Warner Bross, gave the horse to Turkey. After September 20th, 2004, the 19 metres high horse will be set up and displayed in Çanakkale. There was already a wooden horse by a Turkish carpenter displayed in Troy since 30 years. This horse had a special room inside for visitors, but with the popularity of the movie Troy and the more ancient look of this new horse, it will probably attract more visitors to this ancient city.

The new horse is made of steel and fiberglass, and weighs 11 tons. Its cost to the producers was $260,000. The horse was transported to Turkey in pieces via a ship and its assembly was done by a Turkish-German team. It will be displayed in front of the Major's place in Çanakkale for a year, and then it will be moved to the Troy Park that's being built as a tourist attraction and for displaying this horse.
