I have never succeeded being funny in Turkish, you need a native speaker. (But I thought that the literal translation might my pleasing to you, keep in mind that the writer might not have exactly meant "smoking" way we use it in slang, (or maybe he did,(modified) Ok, I am leaning more like did).
Regards.

GÖZLERİMDE TÜTÜYORSUN
Tutmek is "to release smoke"
What releases smoke?....fire
In Turkish, people are said to lose the fire in their eyes, when they die.
The literal message in GOZLERIMDE TUTUYORSUN is: "you the fire in my eyes, you are what keeps me alive". That it indicates intense longing is also correct.
