Seni tanıdıkça daha çok seviyorum

Özür diliyorum

Seni kaçırmak istiyorum ***

*** Watch out using this one! Kız kaçırmak was an old way in the Black Sea region of making a girl's dad agree to let you marry her, as it is thought that if you took her away you sullied her virginity and no one else would want her, so he has to let you marry her. Don't let her dad hear you say this!!!!

It may also be dad's sneaky way to give the girl away without a dowry.

If you kidnap the girl, she comes with a small handbag..No dowry.

What dowry?

I thought muslim girls don't come with a dowry. Also, I thought that it was the man that was supposed to give Mahr or gold to the girl for marriage.

I think this is in Islam and since 99% of them are muslims there isn't this right?

Just curious.

Dowry was the wrong word. There is no dowry, like they have among Jews.

It is true however, that if a girl choses to elope, her dad loses face but saves a lot of money.

Why would he save money? Are women still financially dependent on men in parts of Turkey then?
