In Turkish if you say
Neler yapıyorsun
it means what are you doing, but kinda expecting you to reply more than one thing. Literally it would be "What things are you doing" but that sounds stupid in English, so your translator just said "what are you doing".

Neler yapıyorsun can also be translated "What's going down?" or soething like that as it is often less formal Turkish, used between friends, rather than ne yapıyorsun.
