Well the only times I had mead it tasted like a combination of honey, mothballs and old man's sweaty week day old socks!!! 
Edit: I have not actually tasted old man's sweaty week day old socks OR mothballs, but its how I imagine them to taste

I can assure you that this particular variant of mead was very tasty.......plus it came in a very sexy, heart shaped bottle!!!
