an odd question springing to mind at this time of the night

What happens when you add someone to your contact list? I have noticed the link in users' profils "Add X to your contact list", but didn't add anyone to my contact list. I mean, what is the function of it? You get some kind of notification that the user in your contact is online?

It just adds that person's avatar and details to your Contact List section. When you come online and want to send a PM you can just go to your contact list, rather than search through to find their details...

That's what I know too, it just makes it easier for you to send PMs and no, it doesn't notify anything.

Aenigma - give me some exact and confirmed info about that, or I will add you to my contact list! I don't like "as-far-as-I-know" type of information!

Also, for example, when I add a user to my contact list, will the user be able to sense, if not know, that I have added them to my contact list?
