Does anybody know of an online dictionary for Ottoman Turkish?

We need to 'transcribe' a small text, but I dont have a dictionary yet, which would come in handy since the text doesnt have the diacritic points for consonants!!!

I think you should Google for "Osmanlıca sözlük". It gives quite some results, but you should see for yourself which one is the most useful to you. Of course it would be nicer if someone who has experience with Osmanlıca gives you the best link

This site might come in useful for you in future: History Foundation of Turkey

It's like some kind of portal site with all kinds of links to any kind of documentation about Turkish history and language. The English version of the site is more limited than the Turkish version though. Still, I think you should bookmark it

Edit: Calling it a "portal site" is wrong actually. It's an organization, just go and have a look yourself, there's too much to mention

Thank you both! I managed to translate one sentence by now The dictionary that is adviced, Redhouse, is not available in Holland (yet), only via intrenet but it is 3 times more expensive than the one I had in my hands in İzmir (and unfortuantely did not buy )
