You are right. Ben is not needed. Your sentence is correct. DinliyorUM means that it is the "I am"

Oh to wake up tomorrow and be fluent in turkish would an awesome thing .. .. but I suppose I should look at the bright side .. 4 months ago I couldn't even read let alone understand turkish .. .. and now I can at least kinda sorta make simple sentences ..
