What is the difference between şÃ¶hret and meşhur???
Can they both be used in the same way or is there a difference???

Meşhur: famous( adj. for smb who has fame)

Ãœnlü is the synonym of meşhur.
Origin of "ünlü" is Turkish but "meşhur" is from Arabic I think.

which seems to be a noun - can meşhur not be used as a noun???
