I've tried to translate this.I think he is thanking me for thinking about him...I could be very wrong...would be grateful for help..

you're not wrong, he's saying:

good evening my love, thank you for thinking about me

beat me to it

i would paraphraze it smth like "thanks that dodn't forget about me" practically meaning the same and sounds better /imho/
