actually the most popular arguement is made on scarf issue..probably scarf will be free in universities..
another popular issue is immunities of parliamenters and bureaucrats...new constitution just offers a "shave"..
there wont be bounded religion lessons at schools.
sth.sth..i read the constitition outline..i am sure turkey will argue to change it 5-10 years later..that outline is not brave and do not touch real important issues..

The headscarf allowed in schools and universities, more religious rights, less power for the army - those are the subjects I heard of.
Is this all something people are waiting for since many years or is it a sign of the influence of islam, like criticasters said before Gül was elected?

Turkey is not going to be "islamized".
It would, however, be nice to see more religious rights (for ALL religions) and less power for the army would be great as well. Both things that could bring Turkey closer to joining the EU. Possibly.
I know a lot of you people don't agree but I'll be so happy on your behalf in the future when I can say I told you so

there was an interesting point i've noticed i was watching many turks coimng out for demonstrations to support the secularism/ataturk, but it feels like they went home to vote for gul
why do people demonstrate one and do another?
i remember a few fellows of mine who were discussing about elections, they actually decided to watch a bit the moods and then give their votes to those that have already been gaining more points so to be sure they are on the side of winners.

That's silly. But I think you have a point. AKP was WAY ahead of CHP in the elections.
