Istanbul hosts a colorful and an extraordinary event following many cities around the world: CowParade. There will be many cows on the streets of various districts until October 31, 2007.
CowParade Istanbul which brings amusing art and creativity to the streets of Istanbul is realized with the support and contribution of sixty eight establishments. The CowParade is composed of 190 fiberglass colorful cows designed by 150 celebrities such as artists, designers, decorators, caricaturists, performers, sculptors, journalists..
For three months the life sized colorful cows will be on display at various spots of Şişli, Nişantaşı, Harbiye, Beyoğlu,Bebek, Ortaköy, Sultanahmet together with Akmerkez, Cevahir, Kanyon, Metrocity and Profilo shopping malls.
The cow statues on display will be auctioned in November and the proceeds will be donated to a special fund established for the benefit of Street Children Rehabilitation Association, Mother and Child Education Foundation (AÇEV) ande the Turkish Foundation for Combating Soil Erosion, for Reforestation and the Protection of Natural Habitats (TEMA).
Painting activities and art workshops for children will be held in Kanyon Shopping Mall during the CowParade-Istanbul. In addition exclusively designed CowParade gifts are on sale at D&R stores
