Friends of mine drove over to Turkey intending to keep their car over here but unfortunately found that when their 3 month visa was up they had to remove the car as well as themselves from the country and yesterday they left to take the car back to the UK. However, that would imply that they were able to bring the car in on a tourist visa. They drove through Europe and crossed to the Asian side at Gallipoli then drove down through Izmir to Bodrum. I understand some people take the ferry from Italy to Izmir but not sure whereabouts in Italy this leaves from. I am sure others will have some more info on this though. Good Luck!
