I have met these two different forms...in one of my textbooks it says "Buyurun" and in the "Buyrun". I have checked - it's not a spelling mistake. So which form is correct?

I think both of them are correct. And you can come across both.

Buyrun form is closer to the spoken language and over time it may be the only accepted form.

Buyurmak means to give orders.
We have "buyruk" < "buyuruk" (order) from that verb. "Buyuruk" is not used.

Similarly we have:
nerede (where)
nereden (where from)

but we also have
nerde
nerden

Both forms are acceptible.

I get it...I was wondering because I know that this is an imperative form and the verb is "buyurmak" so logically it should be written "buyurun", even though it may be pronounced "buyrun" and that's why I was a bit confused when I saw it in a textbook. In Bulgarian we also have "shorter" forms of certain words, bit they are used exclusively in the spoken language.
