Hi

Everyone hangs up Turkish flags. There will be ceremonies in the morning around the main Ataturk statue in town and schools may have ceremonies in their playgrounds that you can watch. In the evening the local authority may have a pop concert in a park or square, it depends on the place.

Much more fun than a British Bank Holiday!

Banks and many small shops will be closed. Some large shopping centres will be open
