Can anyone tell me what the Turkish translation of "fiance" is? It's not in the dictionary!

Esim=my wife.
Esin=your wife.
Esimiz=Our wife
Nisanlim=My fiance.
Nisanlin=Your fiance.
Nisanlimiz=Our fiance.
A few examples,but I doubt you'ed encounter the third one very often

Thanks, I`ve only learned karı for wife. And i was pretty sure i was told eş was fiance. But anyway- thanks 
I`m learning every day.
I hope i`ll never have to use the third one

Yeah 'Kari' is also used as wife but is quite informal compared to 'es'.
If you use the third one you're in trouble

Mylo is right.
Nişanlı is fiance
Koca = husband
Karı = wife
Eş = husband or wife
The difference between Koca/Karı and eş is cultural.
Koca/karı is either more used in rural areas, or in city marriages that are more traditional.
Modern-thinking middle classes would use the phrase eş more often, as it implies more an equality in the marriage relationship between husband and wife. Eş comes from the root for equal. So eşim is like "my equal" as well as "my husband" or "my wife".
