I have always been fascinated with Nostradamus and his prophecies. How do you feel about him and do you think there is any truth with his predictions?

I once bought a book that had all of his quatranes (I think that is what they call his predictions, if I remember correctly) in it. To tell you honestly, when I read them as they were writen, I don't know how they made any sense of them much less interpreted a prediction. Of course it is very facinating to think that someone knows the future but I am not convinced that any human does.

I haven't read any books with his quatranes, however would love too. I just find it fascinating that after every major event in the world, he is the number one search on yahoo. After 911, it received over 2 million hits.

The programs I have watched, they have interperted his predictions, which were in modern french. It's very ironic how many of them point to the very historical events through out our history.

I have mixed feelings about predicting the future, could it be possible? Did God give him a special gift, who could warn us of our own self destruction, but we have ignored it?

Personally, I don't think anyone can predict the future- only because, once you predict it, in reality you change it. Maybe it is just easier for me, personally, to trust that a higher power is in charge and it doesn't matter what happens in this life. It is what happens after this life that is important. Maybe that is what keeps me from worrying too much.

See, I on the other hand believe in judgment day. What we do on this earth in the present & future, will have an effect & impact on us. However, I believe that my god is almighty forgiving.

I don't think nostradamus was put in charge so to speak, but I believe just like priests, god has put messengers here on earth. Either to proclaim his teachings and spread his word and possibly to send us a sign.

I agree with Elisabeth, but I think anything is possible. I wouldn't want to know the future even if someone offered to tell it to me (assuming they were right) . I'm probably in the minority on that one. haha

There has been a resurgance of interest in Nostradamus, despite the fact that his writings have been discredited by most experts. It's very funny and is mainly due to gullible people believing hoax emails saying that he predicted the attack on the World Trade Center!!! He didn't - it was a hoax, but people love to believe in mysteries

So all my planning for 2012, isn't necessary then.
