i realise that this board is about turkey but i am learning turkish for holidays there and hope to visit Turkey soon.

does anyone here go to TRNC at all. I have been 6 times in 2 years and i have friends there. just got back and am missing it so much.
have made many english and turkish cypriot/turkish friends.the people are so friendly and helpful. i get so much help with my turkish -everyday is a learning day.
i admire the culture, the family values and overall respect. something that has been lost here in england. i have picked some useful hints on the culture on this board.
considering the problems there with being isolated the people are resilient and have done so well.
if you have not been then i encourage you to go. the countryside is beautiful, excellent beaches, eating out is excellent value. but overall its the people that make it. i have to say it is paradise for me and i am returning in 11 weeks - cant wait.
i have turkish cypriot friends who tell me i will enjoy turkey -it looks so beautiful.
thanks to the help i received on the board in may with my simple turkish translation questions. great help and with plenty of practice i am making slow but steady progress and making lots of friends.
