But what does this word mean; güzeleştirmek?

Litterally "to make it more beautiful", or "more pretty" i.e. to improve

güzel: beautiful
güzelleşmek: to become more beautiful
güzelleştirmek: to make it more beautiful

e.g.
kız güzel: the girl is beautiful

yüzün her gün daha da güzelleşir: your face becomes more beautiful every day

gözlerimi güzelleştirmek için rimel sürüyorum: I am putting on eye makeup to make my eyes prettier.
