Merhaba, I am new to this site and would really appreciate some advise please.
If someone leaves their job and breaks their contract do they have to pay money to their ex-employer.
Thank you for your help

If it is written in your contract that you have to pay if you leave then you have to pay them. If not you do not have to pay.
You should review your contract.

This is an interesting question.. I guess it would depend on where you live and what laws apply in your country specifically.
But my question back to you is, why would you have to pay a former employer? I have never heard of an employee having to pay an employer before even if a contract was presented.
I am curious to hear more...

Technically you could owe an employer money. For example if you had taken paid holiday for that year and you left BEFORE the end of the year, you would owe them for the non-pro-rata days.
I am boring myself....Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Please, somebody, she needs an immediate injection of silliness. It is the only thing that can save her!

You are correct, Aenigma. But I have feeling they may be referring to something else, like compensation. I'm interested to hear what employer makes you pay back money to them.

But suppose it is the third Monday in March and Easter has already occured and you were sick on the previous Tuesday? Would I have to pay my employer back for Easter or Tuesday? Is the employer a Dudu? If so, don't you think the question is a mute point because he was going to take your money anyway?
