refugees escape from their country from prosecution, war, death,is that what you mean?
immigrants have free choices,choice of a country,religion,way of living...
refugees not..the only thing they want is to survive!
Do you wonder why so many Turks leave Turkish paradise?

It sounds like a nice topic..
I will give it a start (my try)
I think two dates should be remembered in this topic:1960s and 1980s.
In 1960s there was a mass immigration to Europe (mainly to Germany and a bit to Holland If I am not wrong). They were INVITED there because of those countries needed for work force at the time.
1980's should be considered as 'escaping from Turkey' because of the cu-de-ta in Turkey in 1980. They were refugees.
Of course we should also mention the Kurdish refugees in this topic as, I think, especially 1990s were the times, some of the kurd came to Europe as refugees in thousands.
