They have no choice but to support him. Insulting Ataturk is against the law.

Staunch muslims do not like him generally.. Simple reason for that is 'the idea of secularism'.
Ataturk was the leader abolished Sharia in Turkey.

I don't understand your question
Churchill is just another politican. We do not hold up his politics as "the holy grail of all that is good" - he ended his term and we had a new Prime Minister.

In addition, I am free to insult him as often as I like

all sort fanatism danger and barrier front of peace, each term has their own realities and own leaders, time and conditions changing fastly on all over world,so we really missing Atatürks of this term.Thas really great to have a big leader like him when we trully needed for creat our new republic ,but things really so different today. So i believe that Turkey will rise only on shoulders of science&technologcy with a big social agrement far away from all regional, ethical and cultural prejudices..fanatism starts when mind and science stopped,so noone of us never let for that...

I was only asking about old Churchill's popularity and health...

My grandfather told me he had shot himself in his own foot, while hiking up the hill, to dine with Ataturk - in Gallipoli...

I also think he was just a second rate politician...can be forgotten, if his term is over.
