I realize I am a bit late but of the two, I liked Michael Clayton. Hope you enjoyed whatever you saw.
I saw Beowulf this weekend. Not my first choice but it was my husband's turn to pick the movie...it has been a long time since I read the story in high school but from what I recollect it seemed fairly close. It captured the story's gluminess, anyway.
