How could you translate this Turkish Proverb into English Language, please?

Bir Türk Atasözü =
“Gençler; gençlik yaşlarındaki hataları, yanlışlıkları ve günahları görmezler, anlamazlar ve kabul etmezler.Tavsiye istemezler, geçmişten ders de almazlar...…Ama iş işten geçtikten sonra, bu yaptıklarının bedellerini hayatları boyu çekmek ve ödemek zorunda kalırlar.Bu iş, nesiller boyu hep böyle devam eder giderâ€.

My try:
Young fellows do not see understand and accept their mistakes, faults and sins in their youth. They refuse the recommandations, take lessons from the past. But when it is too late they have to pay and suffer what they did all their lifes. This thing does not change and continues ages and ages

My try:

Fcs: that's great! I would just repeat the negative in English, saying "they don't take lessons from the past", or even better "they don't learn lessons from the past".
Also nesiller boyu would be better translated "from generation to generation" that "ages and ages".
It reminds me of the bumper sticker: "Employ a teenager, while they still know everything"!!!!
