Will you follow it with Muslim states plans to re-shape the west?

Maybe as an encore?

Interesting article Alpha. I don't agree with all of it but it makes you wonder if giving up a little land by some countries...although it may be hard to think of....would serve a bigger purpose and bring about peace and prosperity for most in the middle east. Unfortunately, I still think humans will always find some reason for fighting and hating. It is as common to us as love and forgiveness.

Liz...
It is not an issue where they ask you whether you agree or not....Citizens simply jump when NeoCons say jump.

This article is from the official army journal of a country whose representatives grin and call themselves our strategic allies. Do we need enemies when we have such allies?

I think the ideas in this article and Turkia's own strategies hardly coincide. Where does our allegiance stand?

Turkish strategies included peaceful cooperation in the area on energy issues - that may have to wait a little, after the plane crash today.

Argh what a horror this is.....and appropriately titled "Blood Borders". How many lives would be sacificed to this? I had no idea things were this open and had progressed this far.

plans for drawing a new Middle East

Many of the problems affecting the contemporary Middle East are the result of the deliberate aggravation of pre-existing regional tensions. Sectarian division, ethnic tension and internal violence have been traditionally exploited by the United States and Britain in various parts of the globe including Africa, Latin America, the Balkans, and the Middle East. Iraq is just one of many examples of the Anglo-American strategy of “divide and conquer.” Other examples are Rwanda, Yugoslavia, the Caucasus, and Afghanistan. ...........................

The Turkish Protest at NATO’s Military College in Rome
Lieutenant-Colonel Ralph Peters’ map of the “New Middle East” has sparked angry reactions in Turkey. According to Turkish press releases on September 15, 2006 the map of the “New Middle East” was displayed in NATO’s Military College in Rome, Italy. It was additionally reported that Turkish officers were immediately outraged by the presentation of a portioned and segmented Turkey.8 The map received some form of approval from the U.S. National War Academy before it was unveiled in front of NATO officers in Rome.
The Turkish Chief of Staff, General Buyukanit, contacted the U.S. Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Peter Pace, and protested the event and the exhibition of the redrawn map of the Middle East, Afghanistan, and Pakistan.9 Furthermore the Pentagon has gone out of its way to assure Turkey that the map does not reflect official U.S. policy and objectives in the region, but this seems to be conflicting with Anglo-American actions in the Middle East and NATO-garrisoned Afghanistan.

Below is an interesting commentary from Turkishweekly

A Brief Comment on Ralph Peters’s 'Blood Borders'

Peters is an interesting person who seems to have some unique and thoughtful perspectives.

ISLAM-HATERS: AN ENEMY WITHIN

.............I've received no end of e-mails and letters seeking to "enlighten" me about the insidious nature of Islam. Convinced that I'm naive because I defend American Muslims and refuse to "see" that Islam is 100 percent evil, the writers warn that I'm a foolish "dhimmi," blind to the conspiratorial nature of Islam.

I'm speechless....and frightened at the prospects for disharmony.....and would much rather discuss J.Lo...

The Armed Forces Journal is not an official journal of any country or agency. It is a private publication of Army Times Publication Company, a part of Gannett Company, Inc.

Their web pageexplains their corporate relationships.

There is no doubt that some U.S. military people read this journal but it does not represent any official views or positions.
