This is a simple layman translation. May not fully cover what Rumi actually meant.
LAST WILL OF RUMI
My advice (My will to you) is that you all be aware of god's presence (be afraid of him) whether you are in public or private, to eat little, to sleep little, to speak little, to refrain from all sins, to fast, to continiue daily prayers, to stay away from lust, not to be weary of your responsibilities to others, not to be in close relation with people of low virtue and ethics, to be close to wise and clean people.
A good person is one who is helpful and useful to others.
Good words must be scarce in number and precise in meaning.
You owe thanks (gratitude) only to god, who is unique.
I salute all those who believe in god and that god is unique.
