What is the English translation of this word?

The egitim merkezi that I currenyly work, will organize a new years evening with fireworks and everything. According to the money the parents can miss, children will give money to buy those fireworks. However, a part of the money will be collected and used for charity, to send to countries in need such as Cambodja (our first target, more to follow insallah!). My boss said Fedakarlik, but I couldnt think of a fitting word in Dutch, since self-sacrifice isnt the correct one in this sense.

Benefit evening? I just cant think of any matching word to give the event, as charity isnt totally correct either.

Any suggestions are welcome so that I can prepare the letter to send to schools and parents!

Fedarkarlık = self sacrifice.

Maybe the best words are "charity", "assistance to those in need" for what you are describing
