Merhaba!

Can 'yok' be used for 'no'? I remember reading something about this here, but I can't find it anymore. It is interesting for me, in serbian language, we sometimes use 'jok', from turkish 'yok' (pronounced same). Its meaning in serbian is 'no', and it sounds more rude, then normal 'no'. As far as I know, it can't be used in serbian for 'there is not'.
