Hi all,
As anyone who knew me before I worked self-employed selling women’s footwear as my main income although unfortunately it never worked out and I still am occasionally selling shoes to my fiancée’s friends. Nesrin told me and I found it very interesting as I have seen it more and more especially in Istanbul that the majority of shoe shops had male assistants and I hardly noticed a woman selling ladies footwear, okay nothing strange about that but where I come from in the U.K. there are very rarely male assistants selling women’s shoes and from my experience as a shoe seller all my contacts and suppliers of women's fashion wear shoes were all women.
I very often got many e-mails when I was a seller from guys who wanted to buy their wife’s/girlfriends shoes and wanted some advice, they even asked me if I had a foot fetish because why did I not sell men's shoes? I had to reply that the market was much better with women’s footwear and much more interesting and profitable and men generally are not interested in shoes preferring trainers and boots. I from my time as a shoe seller got some strange looks in England when I bought my fiancée some shoes I am sure they thought I had a fetish for shoes yet in Istanbul men are comfortable with selling women's footwear and when I bought shoes for my Nesrin there was alot of help and no stigma attached to me purchasing for my lady. Maybe it is just here in the U.K. I still have many looks when buying shoes for her some assistants never are helpful
