the mayor of istanbul announced that there wont be new year celebration and concerts in Taksim Square this year because of martries.

Just my thoughts.......I could tell some pretty wild stories of things that have happened at a few wild New Years Eve parties I have been to and they were nowhere near Taxim....or Turkey for that matter!! Seems strange to cancel a celebration because some people can't hold there liquor! Why don't they have REAL security? There is always a strong police presence in Turkey but they are rarely doing much more than standing around.
