Looking for a low key entertainment place in Kumkapi where I can enjoy Turkish Gypsy Music. References welcome and appreciated. Thanks.

Do you mean a restaurant with live Gypsy music playing? I know a place called "Capari" which is in Kumkapi. It is a famous seafood restaurant with good fame. The gypsy band there is good and they won't go from table to table to play and awaiting tips. And there is no belly dancing accompanied with the band. Personally I prefer this. You know, not so high profile...

Prefer low key places where locals go, off the tourist path.

Revisiting Turkia soon.

Well, I think most of the guests are turkish people. The first time I went there with my friends, we were the only tourists there. Second time I went there, I saw turkish wedding party held there on the upper floor. It seems famous among local people. There was another place that we went with the recommendation from our hotel. That one was full of tourists who were taken to that restaurant in a van. Remember not to go any place where the hotel recommends and don't get on the door-to-door van.
