You basically have to ask someone to marry you, preferably someone you know, love and get on with and you have known them for a little time. To seal that proposal the man would buy a ring of gold and diamonds or some other precious stone and give it to the girl. Sometimes he will ask the father for the girls hand. This is the old fashioned English way.

Now days, the girl get pregnant and they get married (perhaps) then after a time they get fed up with each other and one leaves the other and they get a divorce. They then argue over the child - is it really mine he says? Have a test to prove or disprove - he might pay some kind of maintenance by which time she is pregant again by some else....................... This is the new English way (May I say this is NOT TYPICAL but it is not far off)

I think every girl dreams of something romantic

For example, do you know the Fontana Di Trevi in Roma? It's forbidden to enter the fountain, there are policemen close to get you out when you go in.

When i was in Rome with my friends, there was this man who persuaded his girlfriend to enter the fountain with him, to make a picture. So whilst she put her arms around his neck and smiled to the camera, he kneeled for her, took the ring from the box and asked her to marry him!!!! SO ROMANTIC!!
But the police disturbed the fun

I think when you love someone very much, you also want your proposal to be special. But the 'classy' way of a golden-diamond ring during a dinner out, is never wrong

I think every girl, even when she's soooo modern, still likes the man to ask her and get spoiled

How do Turkish people ask marriage proposal then? I am interested to know. Do they always love on another or is the marriage just for convienience? Are they always sure they do the right thing? How easy is divorce if things go wrong?

Lots of questions I know but I would like to understand too!!

Well..We cant generalize marriage proposal..I think it changes
from person to person(not from nation to nation)..We must find true time and true place to ask marriage proposal(Deli_kizin told smtgh like that)..I havent had that moment but I am sure that it must be very romantic..
I dont think so divorcing is very easy..I am reading from newspapers and observing my surroundings and I think it is very hard in Turkey..There are lots of problems for divorcing..

Same problems in England - therefore marriage is not to be entered into lightly.
