Merhaba,
please can someone explain me something-in section turkishgrammar, Future tense
Tenses,Gelecek zaman
I understood that when T is before some vowel it becomes D.
So, future tense of verb gitmek is:
gitmek => git-ecek-im => gideceğim
But,in the table verb kapatmak, future tense is: kapatacağım, kapatacaksın,...
Why T didnt become D in this case? I thought that it should be: kapadacağım, kapadacaksın,... ?
kapatmak => kapat-acak-ım => kapadacağım
K also changes to Ğ when is before vowel.
Teşekkurler

good evening black bear
i will try to answer your question.
the future tense of gitmek (to go) is gideceğim. ben gideceğim.
the future tense of kapmak (to close) is with t.
why it is with t? because of the vowel. a does not require d. e does.

Thanks portokal. You say that A does not require D, but letter E does.
I guess that this is a little bit problematic thing....cases when Ç K P and T change:Consonant harmony
Case A, word mutation, T has changed to D before A ?!
kağıt-a --> kağıda (to the paper)
Then, kapatmak should be in future tense: Ben kapadacağım...

Aferin sana Black Bear. You should close with t.
In word mutation consonant changes if there are more than one syllables: for example, şarap changes into şaraba.

The consonant mutation rule affects only a small number of verbs, basically gitmek,etmek,tatmak and ditmek as far as I remember. The rest of verbs aren't subject to that rule, so the future tense of kapatmak is kapatacağım.

It is kapatmak.

Iceheart_Omnis, you were right
I went to my neighbour,she studied turkish and arabic and I took her book, turkish, and here is an answer:
The consonant mutation rule t->d affects only a small number of verbs: etmek, gitmek, gütmek, ditmek,...
So,in my dilemma: gitmek-kapatmak future tense,explanation is quite simple- exception is verb gitmek,not kapatmak.
