Bir nefes kadar kısaymış
Aşk dediğin bir şakaymış
Alacaklarına saymış
Kader bu

Hiç kimse bilmez bilemez
Gönül ister ama sevemez
Sürükler peşine aşkın
Kimselere diyemez

Bir günahmış bir hataymış
Belki birazcık yaşanmış
Alacaklarına saymış
Kader bu

Someone told me that it's better not to mention on the streets of the big cities that you like a special kind of music. He said that after i sent him my favourite song, which was a bit of halk-arabesk.. i dont know the name for it exactly. It are pessimistic, dark songs, and i think mostly listened to by the poorer less educated people.

Is this true?

we cannot generalize this.of course "arabesk" is mostly loved by poorer people, coz it appeals to them.songs are about money, poor, unanswered loves and like all pessimistic thoughts.but saying again i dont believe the arabesk music fans are all poor people.i know edeucated ones like arabesk.

this is a hard subject to generalize theme in one sentence

I just said that to make clear what kind of music i meant Because i am not sure if the song i love, is Arabesk.

Anyhow, my friend said it's better not to say that in Istanbul for example. But i guess that is not true? I could send you the song if you like.
