I was given the direction from the Vice President of Human Resources...not an option.
The worst part is apparently they fear this manager has anger issues...so they don´t want to do it in the office. I´m meeting his boss at a hotel and have scheduled a meeting room there. Were going to have the colleague come to the hotel conference room, where we will deliver the news to him. The whole thing is a little bizarre to me.
hummmmmm......do you need some protection from Texas? I´ll bring my pistol....we will meet at high noon!! 
Presumably if you are in such a powerful position, you are paid handsomely for the slight stress of tearing up someone´s life
