Quoting rapt: Merhaba!
You help in translating this will be greatly appreciated!
Çok seviyorum hep sevicem.
Thank you!! |
I love you a lot, and will always love you.
This is quite an easy one, so you must be a beginner.
Let me give some explanations:
Çok= lots, a lot, loads, much etc
Hep = always, for ever
sevmek=to love
Turkish adds eddings on to make different tenses
sev-: love
-iyor- resent tense
-um: me
so seviyorum= I love or I am loving
sev - : love
-ecek: future tense
-im: me
seveceğim: I will love
Your friend wrote the colloquial short form of this: sevicem short for seveceğim ( a bit like how doesn't is short for does not in English)
Best of luck with learning Turkish

Marion,
Thanks for the translation and the great explanation. I am rather new at seriously studying the language. I was ok with everything in this sentence except "sevicem", I'm so glad you explained the shortened version.
I can understand a fair amount of Turkish but have trouble responding quickly so I'm making the effort to really learn the language (rules and all) so I can communicate to family when we take our trip there later in the year (can't wait, I've wanted to go for almost 20 years!)
Thanks again!!
