I have an enquiry to make:
i want to send some money to a friend in turkey, i dont trust posting it because ive sent letters before that havent reached her. I want to send it to her bank account but im having problems because turish banks dont have sort codes, does anyone know how to get round this please? Many thanks.

I guess it depends on where you live and what kind of options you have. This topic has been discussed earlier so just search TC for info.

You need her account number, the name of her bank and the branch code and SWIFT code for the bank - that is all. We have transferred money from UK to Turkey several times with no problem at all. Just take these details into your bank and they will do it all for you - costs around £20.

you can send to money from post office (money gram) or westen union

Now every Turkish bank account also has an IBAN (International Bank Account Number). If you get that, it will be enough. Your bank should be able to send it with this information.

I too have transfered money to Turkey often from the US. It is an easy process. By the way, how did this not escalate into a dudu thread? Elizabeth is correct. TC is kinder and gentler...

There is still time Keith! But I think if you look closer at her post Gemz is sending money to a female friend!!

I've never heard of duda's in Turkey. I can think of some in Holland though! Maybe we should create a 'dudulovesduda.com' dating site!
