It is "before the work starts"

This might mean your job, or might mean something else like a project, or a planned event.

How did you get the 'before' bit?
I thought the 'madan' suffix meant 'without doing' but 'den önce' meant 'before doing'.
I thought he may have missed the önce bit though.

thanks for that, maybe he means before the season gets underway and he gets too busy! Well I can't go any quicker i'm going next weekend lol
