I am thinking of making a detour from the US to Mexico for an ad hoc vacation. Any suggestions and experiences to be shared? I've never been to the Carribean

hey ninja... well if you are going to mexico, you can visit cancun in the yucatan peninsula... and the island of cozumel that is very close to there... depending on the time of the year you go it can be very crowded...

Cancun is beautiful; I highly recommend it! Yucatán is nice too

There are many other beautiful places in Mexico you can travel to; the site Lechendy provided shows some of the main Cities. I would skip Mexico City (Distrito Federal) it’s too crowded :-S
